Getting to Toitoi

Public transport:

 - The closest bus stop is Heretaunga Street East, goBay bus #11

Drop‑off and taxis:

 - There is a drop-off zone directly outside the main entrance that can be used for private vehicles, taxis, and rideshare services

Accessible parking:

 - Accessible parking is available on Eastbourne Street (2 spaces), Baker Tilly Staples Rodway carpark (4 spaces), and Heretaunga St East (1 space)


Entering the Venue

 - The main entrance (Cushing Foyer on Hastings Street) is wheelchair accessible and step‑free

 - To access the Opera House performance spaces, there are stairs or a lift to the Dress Circle, and stairs to the Grand Circle (sometimes called the gods).

 - As this is a category 1 historic building, some of the doorway widths vary

Lifts:

 - One lift is available from ground to the upper levels.


Inside the Venue

Mobility access:

 - Wheelchair, companion, and early seating available

 - Access to the Grand Circle seating in the Opera House is via steps only

 - Two manual wheelchairs are available, please pre‑book by calling 06 871 5289

Accessible bathrooms:

 - Two unisex bathroom stalls are available on the ground floor, and one in the Dress Circle foyer.

 - As this is a category 1 historic building, some of the doorway widths vary


Accessible seating + tickets

For the Gala Concert/s:

- A certain number of accessible seats are reserved for access patrons

- To book accessible seats, please contact Toitoi directly at 06 871 5289 or email info@toitoivenues.co.nz (rather than booking through Eventfinda)

- When you book, please request accessible seating and discuss with the venue to make sure the assigned seat/s will meet your access needs

For the day-time performance sessions:

 - Seats are not bookable in advance, but are available. If you require accessible seating, please arrive early and notify door staff/ushers


Performers and Backstage Access

 - Toitoi staff will guide / assist with backstage access

 - Raked stage

 - There are accessible backstage dressing rooms and toilets


Additional Accessibility Supports

 - Quiet / low‑sensory spaces available on request

 - Hearing Assist system available

 - Service dogs are welcome
