Getting to the Michael Fowler Centre
Public transport:
- There are North + Southbound Bus Stops on Manners Street (Stop ID 5515) – a 3 min walk from the venue. Stop A heads towards the train station and outer suburbs. Stop B heads towards the inner suburbs. These buses also go to the train station (10-minute drive) for further transport
Drop‑off and taxis:
- There is a covered drop-off zone directly outside the main entrance that can be used for private vehicles, taxis, and rideshare services. This area includes a taxi rank
Accessible parking:
- There are two accessible car parks within 50m of the main entrance (first come, first served)
Entering the Venue
- The main entrance is wheelchair accessible and step‑free
Lifts:
- One large lift (with braille buttons) provides step-free access to all public levels
Inside the Venue
Mobility access:
- Wheelchair, companion, and early seating available
- The upstairs Gallery seating is not wheelchair accessible
- Manual wheelchairs are available, please pre‑book by calling 04 801 4231
Accessible bathrooms:
- Two accessible toilets are located on the ground floor – males to the left of the box office, females to the right
Accessible seating + tickets
For the Gala Concert/s:
- A certain number of accessible seats are reserved for access patrons
- Please contact Ticketmaster using the details listed here
- When you book, please request accessible seating and discuss with the ticketing agent to make sure the assigned seat/s will meet your access needs
For the day-time performance sessions:
- Seats are not bookable in advance, but are available. If you require accessible seating, please arrive early and notify door staff/ushers
Performers and Backstage Access
- Step-free access to the stage and to and from the accessible dressing room
