Getting to the Dunedin Town Hall
Public transport:
- The Central City Bus Hub (Great King Street) is a 6-minute walk away, and serves all citybound services (except the Ridge Runner)
Drop‑off and taxis:
- There is a drop-off zone at the corner of Harrop Street and Moray place. This can be used for private vehicles, taxis, and rideshare services
Accessible parking:
- There is no accessible parking available
Entering the Venue
- The ticketing office is at ground level and is wheelchair accessible and step‑free
- The main foyer and stalls seating is accessed via stairs or two lifts
Lifts:
- There are two lifts available: 1 at the main entry – next to the Metro Cinema and the Ticket office (to access level 1 - stalls seating), and one lift on level one past the stalls on the Harrop side of the building (to access gallery, circle seating, and backstage). To access this second lift, patrons must be guided by an usher to access it.
Inside the Venue
Mobility access:
- Wheelchair, companion, and early seating available
- Access to the Upper Gallery/Gods is by stairs only
- Manual wheelchairs are available on request, please pre‑book by emailing info@dunedinvenues.co.nz or calling 03 479 2823
Accessible bathrooms:
- There are accessible bathrooms on the stalls level
Accessible seating + tickets
For the Gala Concert/s:
- A certain number of accessible seats are reserved for access patrons
- Please contact Ticketek using the details listed here
- When you book, please request accessible seating and discuss with the ticketing agent to make sure the assigned seat/s will meet your access needs
For the day-time performance sessions:
- Seats are not bookable in advance, but may be available. If you require accessible seating, please arrive early and visit the ticketing office
Performers and Backstage Access
- Step-free access to the stage and the upper greenroom backstage (which also has an accessible bathroom) via lift
Additional Accessibility Supports
- Quiet / low‑sensory spaces available on request
- Hearing Assist system available
- Service dogs are welcome
