Getting to the Christchurch Town Hall

Public transport:

 - The nearest bus stop is at Victoria Street (Stop ID 54260 - routes 29, 95, B)

Drop‑off and taxis:

 - There is a drop-off zone directly outside the main entrance that can be used for private vehicles, taxis, and rideshare services

Accessible parking:

 - One accessible parking space available on Kilmore Street in front of the building, and two others located on Colombo Street on the east side of the building (both are first come, first served)


Entering the Venue

 - The main entrance is wheelchair accessible and step‑free

Lifts:

 - One lift available in the main foyer for access to the Gallery level of the auditorium and the Mezzanine level of the James Hay Theatre


Inside the Venue

Mobility access:

 - Wheelchair, companion, and early seating available

 - Access to the Circle level is by stair only

 - Manual wheelchairs are available, please pre‑book by emailing info@venuesotautahi.co.nz

Accessible bathrooms:

 - Accessible toilets are located within gendered bathrooms to the left of the foyer (ground floor)


Accessible seating + tickets

For the Gala Concert/s:

 - A certain number of accessible seats are reserved for access patrons

 - Please contact Ticketmaster using the details listed here

 - When you book, please request accessible seating and discuss with the ticketing agent to make sure the assigned seat/s will meet your access needs

For the day-time performance sessions:

 - Seats are not bookable in advance, but are available. If you require accessible seating, please arrive early and notify door staff/ushers


Performers and Backstage Access

 - Step-free access to the stage and backstage areas

 - No backstage accessible bathrooms, but many private ensuites in dressing rooms that may be suitable for access patrons
