On Saturday 24th May, under the guidance of musical director Courtney Hickmott, Schola Cantorum will sing a varied programme, including the beautiful harmonies of modern and early religious music, intermingled with the recital of star-themed poetry. As we approach the Matariki season enjoy unaccompanied choral music such as the early polyphony "Ave Maris Stella" (Hail Star of the Sea) by Dunstable and ranging to the modern "Star Encyclical" by Furtak.
Schola Cantorum was founded in 1987 to preserve and perform the rich tradition of Mediaeval and Renaissance music, including plain chant, polyphony and madrigals.
presented by Schola Cantorum. Read more about Schola Cantorum at https://scholacantorum.org.nz/
