- Location: St Andrew's on the Terrace

For its second concert of 2026, Supertonic is thrilled to be joining forces with the renowned Oregon Chorale of Portland for Into the West: A Choral Journey of Voice, Land and Connection. This will be the Supertonic’s first international collaboration with another choir in its twelve-year history. The one-night-only concert, to be presented on Saturday 1 August at St Andrew’s on the Terrace, will see both choirs perform individual sets before joining forces to bring the evening to a memorable close.
Into the West invites audiences on a musical journey celebrating renewal, discovery, and the landscapes—both real and imagined—that shape our sense of home. Drawing inspiration from the Pacific horizon, the programme weaves together New Zealand and Māori folk songs, works by Pacific Northwest composers, global choral favourites, and film-inspired pieces. The result is a concert rich in storytelling and atmosphere, uniting contemporary voices and timeless traditions in a spirit of connection and exploration.
Founded in 1985, the Oregon Chorale is an auditioned community choir based near Portland, Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, and is led by Artistic Director Jason Sabino. Guided by its mission to inspire and connect communities through exceptional choral performances and meaningful educational outreach, the Chorale performs a wide range of repertoire, from classical masterworks to contemporary works by living composers.
Supertonic shares Oregon Chorale’s enthusiasm for varied repertoire, striving to push the boundaries of what choral music can be. Since the choir was formed in 2014, it has performed concerts spanning the entire musical spectrum, from Vaughan Williams’ Mass in G Minor, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Fauré’s Requiem to pop and rock spectaculars celebrating Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Elton John, and Queen. For this concert, Supertonic will be directed by Isaac Stone, who is excited to be working with the choir again for the first time since the smash-hit It’s All Coming Back in November 2024.
This promises to be an evening of choral music to remember. Tickets are strictly limited and expected to sell out.
