Napier Civic Choir: Concert Weekend 1

The 'Two Glorias' of the choral concert title are Poulenc's Gloria and Vivaldi's Gloria, with soloists Carleen Ebbs (soprano) and Anna Pierard (alto).

'Dvořák's Serenade' features Stravinsky's Concerto fo Strings, Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings and Dvorak's Serenade for Strings.

These diverse programmes feature a range of vibrant compositions that highlight the expressive capabilities of vocal and string instruments. From Poulenc's playful choral works and Vivaldi's dynamic cantatas to Stravinsky's neoclassical elegance and Britten's evocative serenade, culminating in Dvořák’s charming Serenade for Strings, each piece offers a unique blend of lyrical beauty, rhythmic vitality, and rich emotional depth.
