Join us for Songs of the Isles, a beautiful afternoon of choral music celebrating the rich musical traditions of Scotland, Ireland, and beyond, at 2pm on 9 May at Baring Square Church, Ashburton. Featuring beloved classics such as Danny Boy, Loch Lomond, The Water is Wide, The Seal Lullaby, and Ye Banks and Braes, this concert promises a moving journey through songs of land, sea, and heritage.
Special guest artists include local celebrated bagpiper Harrison Doak, fresh from competing at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland and recently crowned a National Pipe Band Champion, alongside accomplished violinist Ruth Hall, whose lifelong musical journey has taken her from Switzerland to orchestras, world tours, and chamber music performances across New Zealand and overseas. Together, with choir and instrumentalists, Songs of the Isles will be an unforgettable afternoon of warmth, nostalgia, and stirring music.
