Camerata Chamber Choir presents ‘Christmas Joy!’, an evening of uplifting and joyous Christmas music, spanning five centuries.
Highlights include Bach's exultant 'Jauchzet, frohlocket' which opens his 'Christmas Oratorio', Holst's 'Christmas Day', a sparkling weave of traditional carols, and a superb set of Christmas seasonal motets by Mendelssohn. Dan Forrest's contemporary setting of 'Angels We Have Heard on High' brings the programme to the present, its lush harmonies and extravagant accompaniment giving this familiar carol a fresh glow.
In our Christmas concert tradition, there will be a few carols for the audience to sing along to as well! David Gordon conducts, with pianist Megan Quatermass.
