Christmas with Cantorum

Please join us for our final concert of the year as we celebrate Christmas together.  

Our concert includes our usual eclectic mix of ancient and modern settings of music on this festive theme.

Continuing our programme of promoting new music from New Zealand composers, we are thrilled to present the premiere of a new piece, Little Tree, commissioned by the choir from Grace Wellik, a university student.

Our contemporary works include a jazzy, quirky setting of Christo Paremus (‘When Christ was born’) by Keren Terpstra and a gem written by David Griffiths - Dormi Jesu.

We also present another section of Byrd's Mass of the Nativity - O magnum misterium.

Amongst all that, you will get treated to plenty of settings by John Rutter and David Willcocks, some organ music played by Michael Bell, and the chance to exercise your own vocal chords with a carol or two!
