City Choir Dunedin: Bach's Mass in B minor

Do join us on 10 October for an unforgettable evening, a rare opportunity to experience a pinnacle of human artistic expression. The music of the Mass in B Minor spans a wide range of emotions, with intimate solo and duet arias, and a wide variety of choral moods from solemn prayer and passionate pathos to joyful exuberance. The orchestral accompaniment is colourful and inventive, with a variety of solo instruments to complement the solo voices and some unusual sonorities including a solo French Horn with a pair of bassoons. For the more jubilant movements trumpets and timpani join the strings and woodwind for a blaze of colour; all greatly enhanced by the stunning acoustics of the Dunedin Town Hall.
The soloists for this performance are Caroline Burchell (soprano), Tessa Romano (mezzo-soprano), Claire Barton (alto), Teddy Finney-Waters (tenor), David Greco (baritone)
