Auckland Choral: Brahms Requiem Workshop

Whether you’re a seasoned chorister or a budding soloist, this event promises to elevate your singing skills and passion for music. Composed between 1865 and 1868, Brahms’ German Requiem is a masterpiece that holds a special place in the history of music.

This musical journey will bridge the gap between past and present. Within the span of this remarkable composition, we may find ourselves immersed in the harmonies of 16th-century choral music, carried away by the melodies of an 18th-century cantata, or swept into the currents of a 19th-century romantic opera.

The workshop presents an opportunity for you to learn and refine essential singing techniques with the support of experienced vocal coach James Harrison, and to revel in the joys of harmonising in a large symphonic choir with members of Auckland Choral. We will be singing the work in German.
