IRMTNZ Regional Mini-Conferences
Empowering Music Teachers is a set of two consecutive conferences the Institute of Registered Music Teachers of New Zealand is holding in Otāutahi Christchurch and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, 22-24 October 2022.
The interesting programme features a lecture-recital with Andrea Creighton (soprano) and Dr Justin Bird (piano). During what they have called The World in the Music Room, Andrea and Justin will explain how their experiences studying overseas have influenced their approach to teaching.
Sunday 23 October, 3-5pm, Diocesan School for Girls, Clyde Street, Epsom, Auckland
Empowering Music Teachers also includes workshops in both centres on topics of relevance to all music teachers, with Australian musician and presenter Nick Peterson. Sessions on offer include Pedagogy, Musical Wisdom, Rhythm at a Glance, Elucidating Reading, and Appreciating Creativity.
There will also be a selection of masterclasses in Christchurch on Sunday 23 October at Cathedral Grammar School:
