After the disappointment of having to cancel both the South Island Cadenza and The Big Sing Finale in August, we were eager to find an alternative way of celebrating the choral achievements of this year’s outstanding secondary school choirs. We decided to compile a series of online showcases, and suggested choir directors could either film their choir singing one of the pieces they would have presented at the South Island Cadenza or Finale, select one of the videos they had already recorded prior to The Big Sing Regionals, or select one of the recordings made live at Regionals and add some still images to accompany the audio.

We’re excited to be live streaming three choral showcases on Wednesday 8 December from 6.30pm, featuring 21 choirs singing one item from their Cadenza or Finale repertoire.
