An opportunity has arisen for an experienced director to join the Chor 2024 Limited Board through to delivery of the World Choir Games in Auckland in July 2024.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The World Choir Games is the largest choral festival on the globe. Held every two years, it attracts around 300 choirs from over 50 countries, with some 12,000 participants. The Games are renowned for bringing together all nations and cultures in a joyful celebration of creativity, friendship and song.

NZCF has won the rights to host the 13th World Choir Games in Auckland in July 2024 and has established the operating company Chor 2024 Limited to deliver the event.

Chor24 is responsible for delivering the obligations set out in the Hosting Agreement between NZCF and the Games’ German owners INTERKULTUR, alongside the obligations to our local partners MBIE and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited as set out in the respective investment agreements.

IDEAL APPLICANT

Central to the successful delivery of the World Choir Games in 2024 will be a strong governance and leadership team.

Along with previous governance experience, the preferred candidate will demonstrate one or more of the following:

• Proven strategic leadership and relationship management

• Strong experience in risk management systems and processes

• Experience in negotiating and securing commercial partnerships

• Knowledge and understanding of te ao and tikanga Māori, and experience working with mana whenua, iwi and Māori organisations

• Willingness to work positively to realise the vision of the World Choir Games 2024
