The King’s Singers playbook
Join Chris for an afternoon of exploration into the world of acappella. He’ll be sharing his insights into his love of performing and communicating with audiences worldwide. Drawing on decades of experience with the legendary King’s Singers, this hands-on workshop invites educators and keen amateur singers to discover what makes unaccompanied vocal music so special. From blending voices to holding a room, Chris will walk you through the techniques and philosophy that sit at the heart of great ensemble singing.
Expect practical exercises, good stories, and plenty of singing along the way. Whether you’re looking to inspire your students or simply enjoy a good sing, this is a genuinely rare chance to go behind the curtain of one of the world’s great vocal groups. No audition required — just bring yourself and your voice!

Workshop presenter: Chris Bruerton

Having travelled the world extensively, performing in many of the world’s most prestigious concert venues, he has decided to hang up his touring boots in May 2026 to spend more time with his wife Liz in their home in Oxford, UK. It’s also given him the chance to return to his teaching roots and give back to the next generation of budding young musicians, helping them achieve their stage dreams.
In his spare time he’s a keen cook, enthusiastic gardener, sociable runner and whisky lover.
