Wellington's annual SingFest: Donizetti's Requiem

Wellington Region’s 2017 May Workshop will be directed by David Squire. David needs no introduction to NZCF members.  He is a member of the NZCF Governance Board and was a guest conductor at this year’s Sing Aotearoa.

The SingFest, which takes the form of a workshop, will feature the Requiem of Gaetano Donizetti. This work is rarely performed anywhere in the world and the region was lucky enough to borrow the 100 scores after it will be performed by the Teapot Valley Summer School in January (see next year’s brochure ). The National Library has agreed to supply the remaining 100 copies.

Also, of interest to Wellingtonians, the Capital Choir will be performing this work in a concert at 3pm on Sunday 13 November at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Hill Street. So you can hear it there – or through several links on YouTube.

Mark your diaries now – 5 & 6 May 2017. Contact Lynda Hunter for more information. The region will be sending out registration information in February.
