The Big Sing regionals are well underway, with Hawkes Bay leading the way on 29 & 30 May and Christchurch choirs singing their hearts out as we ‘go to print’. Further festivals are scheduled for Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Nelson, Palmerston North and New Plymouth next week, and regionals wrap up on 18 June with the final festivals in Tauranga and Invercargill.
Details of dates and venues for our regional competitions are here.
We’re enormously indebted to all our sponsors around the country, and in particular to our national sponsors:
Creative New Zealand
Creative NZ is a Crown entity governed by the Arts Council. The council encourages, promotes and supports New Zealand arts to benefit all New Zealanders. NZCF is grateful for the funding it receives from Creative New Zealand under the Toi Uru Kahikatea Investment programme.
Ministry of Youth Development
The Ministry of Youth Development – Te Manatū Whakahiato Taiohi – encourages and supports young people, aged between 12 and 24 years old, to develop and use knowledge, skills and experiences to participate confidently in their communities. NZCF’s partnership with the Ministry of Youth Development has resulted in the introduction of the MYD ‘Spirit of the Festival’ Regional Award.
