Another successful round of Fine Tuning workshops were held in May 2017 throughout Auckland and Waikato/Bay of Plenty. This professional development opportunity for choirs and musical directors taking part in The Big Sing, was this year run by Peter Watts when he visited four schools in Auckland and three in Waikato/Bay of Plenty spending 90 minutes working with each choir. Well over 200 students participated along with eight conductors who learnt ways to improve their choir’s techniques and improve the standard of their performance.
Choirs taking part in the Fine Tuning workshops are each year offered five free tickets to the sessions and Gala Concert at the Big Sing Finale.
“It was a great experience for the choir to get immediate feedback from an expert in the field. The feedback was kind and constructive and helped both the choir and myself reflect on the progress the choir had made and what was needed for the future. Great experience overall, would highly recommend”.
