SingFest Success in Christchurch and New Plymouth

Congratulations to two NZCF regions – Taranaki and Canterbury – on their successful SingFest events last month.

On September 4th, NZCF Taranaki hosted six choirs (one pictured on the left), who performed for an enthusiastic audience. In lieu of a door charge, audience members generously donated canned goods to the Taranaki Foodbank.

Over the weekend of 17-18 September, Christchurch put on sunny spring weather for over 300 choristers who, between them, gave 19 performances around a range of central city locations, including the Bridge of Remembrance, Riverside Market, the Christchurch Art Gallery, and Cashel Mall.

NZCF Canterbury Chair Rosemary Fisher said “it was lovely to be able to sit on a seat and enjoy the music over a delicious lunch at the Riverside Market.”

NZCF Manawatu-Whanganui is the next region to host a SingFest. Their event will take place in Palmerston North on 29 October, with all community, church, and chamber choirs from the region and beyond welcome to take part.
