Renaissance Singers are pleased to announce that Christine Archer-Lockwood has been appointed as their new Music Director commencing in 2019. She replaces Guy Donaldson who is retiring after thirty years.
Christine brings a wealth of experience as a musician, most particularly as a concert pianist, teacher, choir member and conductor. She has been heavily involved in the world of Music Therapy and on her return from Switzerland has quickly re-established her wide musical network.
Having already shown herself to be forward thinking in the way she directs the choir with her practice activities, her catalogue of conducting has revealed a wide-ranging repertoire. Her involvement in workshops where the latest innovations in choral work were on display has already had an impact.
The Renaissance Singers by definition, are a choir that can redefine itself. It can take new challenges in its stride, and as their audiences attest, keeps on producing memorable choral music.
