Nationally auditioned choir for New Zealand's finest secondary school-aged students. Members join the choir for a two year cycle, gathering every school holidays for rehearsals and public concerts. At the end of each cycle, the choir tours to represent New Zealand at an international festival or competition. In 2014, 2016 and 2018 the choir has attended festivals as invited Guest/ Resident choir, evidence of our growing reputation amongst international youth choirs.

In 2019 the NZSSC merged with the NZ Youth Choir and Voices NZ under the Choirs Aotearoa NZ umbrella.
