Rare 15th-century songbook discovered

A rare music manuscript was presented on Monday 24 April at Huis van de Polyfonie in Heverlee. The songbook, named the ‘Leuven Chansonnier’, was discovered in 2014 at a sale by a Brussels auction house. Written by hand more than 500 years ago, it contains some 50 songs, of which 12 were unknown until now. Worldwide, there are only six copies of such chansonniers from this period.
