Music from the Movies in Auckland

NZCF is pleased to partner with Waitākere Voices Choir and the award-winning West City Youth Concert Band, to support an all-comers movie and game-themed performance opportunity at Labour Weekend.  You’re invited to sing in three massed songs: Christopher Tin’s Baba Yetu, John Williams’ Duel of the Fates from Star Wars, and Carl Orff’s hit O Fortuna with full concert band accompaniment. Everyone is welcome, including individual singers, school choirs, and community choirs.  It’s going to be a great show and Waitākere Voices looks forward to having you join them! School and Community Choir Directors: Waitākere Voices would love to have school or community choirs in the show!  Simply register at the link below, or scan the QR code on the poster with your phone, and you will be sent PDF scores. Alternatively, contact Alexander Alford at wvoiceschoir@gmail.com for PDF scores and to see how your choir can fit in: there’s a good chance your choir may be able to perform a couple of movie-themed items on their own in addition to the tutti pieces (there’s an excellent grand piano at the venue).  Alternatively feel free to pass this email on to your singers. Individual Singers: You’ll be warmly welcomed!  Simply register at the link below, or contact Alexander Alford at wvoiceschoir@gmail.com for scores and full details. Venue:  Bruce Ritchie Performing Arts Centre, Massey High SchoolMassed items:  Baba Yetu (Christopher Tin – Civilization IV), Duel of the Fates (John Williams – Star Wars), O Fortuna (Carl Orff – too many action movies to name!)Conductors:  Alexander Alford and Lauren RabyRegistration:  FreeEligibility:  Anyone – no age limit!Register for the Choir:  https://forms.gle/joqBgRmnf8ZH1JjXATutti Rehearsals:
