We are delighted to welcome Emma Billings to the NZCF team in a new role as Events Manager.
This new position within the team will incorporate the role of The Big Sing National Coordinator, which Emma will take over in consultation with Elizabeth Crayford this year. Emma will also support the co-ordinators of Cadenza and The Kids Sing and will assist the Chief Executive with the day to day running of NZCF.
Emma comes to NZCF with 15 years of experience in the choral sector and was the Operations Manager of Choirs Aotearoa NZ, where she oversaw the touring and operations of the New Zealand Youth Choir and Voices NZ Chamber Choir. Emma’s work with the national choirs took her to 18 countries and to all corners of New Zealand.
Prior to Emma’s work in the choral sector she worked for Arts Access Aotearoa and for the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in Glasgow. Emma has always been interested in arts management and studied Art History and Marketing at Victoria University of Wellington.
Emma says “I am thrilled to take on the role of Events Manager of the NZ Choral Federation. During my years working in the choral sector I have made many wonderful contacts and I am delighted to be able to continue to build on these relationships in the future. I have always been a huge admirer of The Big Sing and the wonderful opportunities it provides young singers and I look forward to having an active role in its coordination and development”.
Emma lives in Upper Hutt with her husband and two daughters, aged 5 and 7.
