Bea is originally from the UK, but spent 14 years living in Amsterdam where she worked as an accountant for two multinational companies. She and her partner Paul immigrated to New Zealand in 1993 and initially considered a career in winemaking before moving to Wellington, where Bea joined RNZ Concert (Concert FM as it was) as Production Administrator. In 1999 she was asked to ‘help out’ in the lead-up to the NZ National Youth Choir’s overseas tour to Europe and the UK. That 6-month contract turned into nearly 10 years as Accounts Manager with Choirs Aotearoa NZ, during which time Bea became an integral part of the team, witnessing many changes and forging lifelong friendships. She then joined Orpheus Choir of Wellington as Administrator, and in 2011 assisted Juliet Dreaver with the Wellington Rugby World Cup anthem choirs on behalf of the NZCF. For the past six years, Bea has been working as a Personal Assistant in the real estate industry.
Bea also does freelance proofreading work, and in her spare time enjoys going to concerts, playing the ukulele, bargain-hunting in charity shops and training at the gym. She lives near the beautiful Botanic Gardens in Wellington.
