We’re sorry to be farewelling two of our National Office staff at the end of December: Cathryn Wyllie (Operations Manager) and Jenni Prentice (Accounts Manager). NZCF’s Chief Executive Christine Argyle pays tribute to their work…
Cathryn took on the newly-created position of NZCF Operations Manager at the start of 2017 and brought extensive arts administration experience to the role. Her considerable skills were applied across a range of areas within NZCF, including events management, membership liaison and secretarial support for the then Chief Executive, Grant Hutchinson. When Grant became seriously ill in mid-2018, Cathryn stepped up to take over a number of his duties and, along with NZCF Chair Juliet Dreaver, really ‘kept the wheels turning’ in the period immediately after Grant’s death. She played a key role in my induction into the role of CE at the end of October 2018 and has continued to offer tremendous support to me over the past two years.
Cathryn also assisted John Rosser and Kylie Sealy enormously in the lead-up to our hosting of the 12th World Symposium on Choral Music, and was to have finished her time with NZCF on a high with WSCM2020 but sadly, that wasn’t to be. Cathryn is now relishing the opportunity to spend more time with her four pre-school grandchildren but we know we’ll continue to see her at NZCF events in the future.
Jenni joined NZCF as our Accounts Manager in mid-2019 and brought tremendous enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ attitude to the role. Always with an eye to improving systems, Jenni has worked behind the scenes with unstinting cheerfulness, even in this most challenging of years. I know our regional treasurers around the country will join me in thanking Jenni for her diligence and support over the past year and a half.
Jenni has now taken up a new role with Professionals Real Estate and is enjoying getting to know a whole new industry. We wish her all the best in her new job and hope she will stay in touch with NZCF and the choral world.
We’re pleased to announce that Ann Gibbard has taken on the new role of Finance and Membership Manager and we look forward to introducing her to our NZCF members in the February 2021 edition of eBreve.
