As Christmas approaches, Nota Bene is delighted to present one of the most popular choral pieces for Christmas time:
Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols
Based on medieval English carols which retain their Middle English texts and a Latin plainsong processional and recessional, Britten originally wrote this work for treble voices and harp. Due to its popularity, this piece was later arranged for mixed choir. We are excited to be performing this work with Michelle Velvin on harp.
In the second half of the programme we will bring you some beautiful atmospheric Christmas songs as well as continuing our tradition with sing-along carols. So bring your voices and share in the wonderful harmonies!
Our Christmas concert wouldn’t be complete without some kai and we hope you'll join us for afternoon tea as part of the concert.
We are fortunate to have a number of excellent new and returning singers joining the choir, and have secured the stunning Studio Pacific Architecture designed St Joseph's Catholic Church near the Basin Reserve. With its performing and reception spaces as well as ample parking, it is the perfect venue for this Christmas concert.
