For those of you who have been eagerly awaiting news of how you might volunteer at July’s World Symposium of Choral Music in Auckland, details of how you can get involved are now on the Volunteer page of the WSCM2020 website.
Thérèse Kelly Bialostocki and Olive Leddy will be coordinating the volunteer team, and they are looking for around 300 people to do a variety of jobs over the eight days of the Symposium, from 11 to 18 July, although some preparation will be required beforehand.
In brief, they will be considering applications for the following roles:
A fuller description of each of these roles and their time commitment is on the WSCM2020 website’s volunteer page. If you’re keen to volunteer, please read this and complete the online application form (on the same page), making sure to submit it by 30 March. If you are fluent in any of our guest choirs’ and presenters’ home languages, Thérèse and Olive would be particularly keen to hear from you. Speakers of Cantonese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin would be especially valuable.
We’d be grateful if you could also share this information with anyone you know who may be interested in choral music but unable to attend as a delegate, or who just loves to volunteer. Please also point them to the WSCM2020 website for a sense of what an exciting event this will be!
