The next New Zealand Singing School: Te Wānanga Toi Waiata will be held at the Eastern Institute of Technology, Napier, from 4th to 14th January 2019. Student auditions close on 31 August.

The 2019 Singing School will be led by three Principals of Faculty & Curriculum – Rachel Fuller and Catrin Johnsson ARAM of the University of Auckland, and Judy Bellingham MNZM, William Evans Associate Professor at the University of Otago. The Advanced Classical stream will again be led by David Harper and Mark Dorrell will again head the Musical Theatre stream.
Amici Forever founder Geoff Sewell is the 2019 Singing School’s Artist in Residence. Geoff, who was
raised in Hawkes Bay, is a multi-platinum selling recording artist who achieved international commercial success through popera group Amici Forever. Trained at The Boston Conservatory of Music in America, Geoff went on to perform on the West End in London and created entertainment company, Incognito Artists, of which he is now Global CEO.
Geoff will mentor the 70-80 Singing School students during his time in Napier and will also perform at public concerts with the School’s students at concert venues in Hawkes Bay.
