Free choral music on the Web
NZCF as an organisation takes seriously its members' (and its own) obligations in connection with copyright laws. The cost of music is significant, particularly for choirs that depend on members' fees for income.
Some members may not know about the free music resources that are available on the Internet. Here is a selection:

The Choral Public Domain Library (CPDL) is the largest website devoted exclusively to free choral sheet music.

Free choral music listed by composer.
If you can't find what you want, try Google. Put the exact name of the piece inside inverted commas and add in separate sets of inverted commas things like "SATB" (if that's what you want), "score" and "free".

Cadence
Organised by the National Library of New Zealand, is a searchable database of choral and orchestral music available for hire. NZCF members receive a 20% discount on music hired from the National Library's extensive collection

International Federation for Choral Music, to which our own New Zealand Choral Federation is affiliated.
Musica International
Created on February 6th, 1998, is devoted to developing and propagating the use of Musica database and to transforming it progressively into a virtual multimedia library.
SOUNZ
The Centre for New Zealand Music is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing, fostering and promoting the music of New Zealand composers. Their website has information about thousands of choral works, most available for sale online and many with score and audio samples. They also support the SOUNZ NZCF Choral Composition Award held in conjunction with the BIG SING each year.
